5 ways fb is taking over ecommerce

Facebook recently showcased improvements to their on-platform buying process & Facebook is ready to disrupt the way eCommerce sites advertise in BIG WAY.

In this article, I’m going to show you 5 ways Facebook is taking over shopping.

#1: Carousel Ads

Carousel Ads are approximately a year old, and have already gained popularity among eCommerce sites.

And just this past month, Facebook introduced Carousel ads to Instagram and roll out video based carousel ads.

According to Facebook’s preliminary testing, advertisers have seen carousel link ads drive 30–50% lower cost-per-conversion.

#2: Canvas

Canvas is an immersive & disruptive ad format that is currently in testing with a few major brands such as Gatorade and Target.

It effectively takes your eCommerce store and makes it 100% native to Facebook, giving people the ability to visit, shop and buy from your eCommerce store, all while never leaving Facebook.

#3: Buy Buttons

Facebook is currently in beta testing with “Buy” buttons with a small group of US-based Shopify merchants.

By adding the “Buy” to an ad, an eCommerce store can give someone the ability to buy their product right on Facebook.

While its still in beta-testing, it is believed that this could increase impulse buys, something all eCommerce stores should love!

#4: Shopping Pages

For people with Shopify stores, they might already be familiar with this; but Facebook is now allowing page owners to set up their stores right on their Facebook page.

According to Facebook, their aim is to help business owners capitalize on over the one billion people visiting pages each month and to make shopping on Facebook even easier!

#5: Shopping Feed

Facebook is working on an entirely NEW News Feed, called the Shopping Feed.

For Facebook users, this is a way to search for products and items that match their interests by selecting their “Shopping Feed” from their favorites.

And for retailers, this promises to be a great place to reach people looking to buy!
